Hi , I have used this code but my serial monitor prints "*449490:29:" not "This is a test" Any thoughts or help would be great ?

Anyhow this is similar to a phone code, the one you find on phone keys.

So "ghi" are all 4's and "pqrs" are 9's.

So probably your issue has to do with variable definitions, as it looks that your data is being cut somehow.

Characters can be two-byte, depending on where do they come from.
