24v I/O Digital on Ind PROTO kit

In this forum I read (https://industruino.com/forum/help-1/question/ind-io-digital-io-voltage-168) that to handle a 24 I / O, the IND.I / O uses an ITS716 Infineon chip. I have checked the datasheet of ITS716 and I have been able to understand how to handle outputs, but it is not clear how I handle inputs (using the same pin)

Any tips for implementing a Digital I / O port on PROTO kit?

Thanks.

Hello, I am quite confused.
Ind. I/O and Proto are different hardware, which one are you interested in?

The output chip only handles output.

Both input and output are handled via I2C by means of a PCA9555 16 bit I/O chip.

All the needed commands and setup are cantained in the Indio library.

Did I answer to your question?

I want to implement 4 x 24V I/O ports with Ind PROTO kit.

Yes I get it. If I want to generate 4 x 24v I/O ports, I must use 8 bits and make the electronics for the outputs and for the inputs.

Thanks for your advice. Bye
