UC1701 backlight only works when USB powered ?

The backlight should be controlled by setting pin 13 low, i understood.
And yes that works for the Proto with a 32U4 but only when the device is powered by USB.
How to turn it on when its not connected by a PC ?
Note 'm using  the  <UC1701.h> lib

Hi Peter,

How are you powering the PROTO? There are 2 options:

  • put 5V on a 5V terminal
  • put 8-28V on the Vin terminal

The backlight is indeed connected to D13 and you can use PWM to choose the intensity. So i can't think of a reason why it would not work if the MCU has power.
