Correct assembly

In the instruction sheet it's written that the cable to connect the three buttons (up-enter-down) must be pushed into the connector with black tracks facing the PCB. The end of the cable has a small brown area. On one side there are the four visible metal tracks and in the other side  there are four dark brown lines. Are these the black tracks ones? Because in the pic (https://industruino.com/shop/product/industruino-ind-i-o-kit-2) the cable seem mounted in the other way (with metal tracks facing the PCB). This is because if I mount the cable following the instructions I need to rotate while in the picture this rotation is not visible.

The cable that goes to the cover with the buttons, is connected to the board with the the black mark at the end  (or indeed brown if you look closer) facing up, and the metal stripes down, to the board. I assume you have the mounted board in front of you.

Zoom in on http://webgang.radiocentraal.be/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/IndustruinoOpenNetwVoed-20161025_028.jpg.

Once I put it the other way (with a newly unpacked Industruino), and I noticed that the preloaded example at power on did not react on the button presses.  No contact, no problem; turned around the cable, ready!
