arduino ide 1.6.5 outputs "Device code: 0x43" using 1286 topboard

running ubuntu 16.04 and arduino 1.6.5 installed all files as recomended by the supplimental turorial. receive this error upon upload.

Found programmer: Id = "MT-CDC"; type = S
Programmer supports buffered memory access with buffersize=256 bytes.

Device code: 0x43

the screen does blink as it apears to communicate when trying to upload. Have used the 32u4 topboard industruino with no issues previously.

i'm an idiot my code had the wrong interupt set in the blink example.
