Hello,

is there a way to add RTC while using the ethernet expansion module?

Thanks

Paolo

Loic, thank you very much for your answer. Just to make it clear before doing anything stupid, the only thing I have to do is soldering a couple of wires from pins SDA and SCL, GND and +5V on the back of the ethernet module, right? I have taken a picture of the back of the board (https://goo.gl/photos/WhEEbwt2JyZGRNdY6), I assume SDA and SCL are the pins labelled as 13 and 14 respectively, correct? Thank you for your support, Paolo

Hi Paolo, yes that's correct. Connect 5V to pin 2, GND to pin 6, SDA to pin 13 and SCL to pin 14. Be carefull to follow the numbering that is right next to the solder pads, the diagram on the silkscreen above the connector has the two rows flipped as it represents the pinout when looking at the connector, not looking at the solder pads. To be sure just use your multimeter in continuity mode and put one probe against the SD card holder frame (this is an easy GND point to find), and put the other probe against pin 6 of the 14pin connector (which is also GND). This clarify the orientation.

Dear Paolo, You could fit a little RTC breakout module such as this one ( https://www.adafruit.com/products/264 ) into the case of the ethernet module. Pins D2 (SDA) and D3 (SCL) can be found on the 14pin connector of the ethernet module (labelled on the silkscreen on the back of the board). We will implement an RTC as standard on future versions of the Industruino. Best Regards, Loic
